BREAKING PARISH NEWS
PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL MEMBERS CHOSEN
During the weekend of May 6-7, 2017, three persons were chosen for the Parish Pastoral Council. We welcome Mr. John Hogan from Divine Infant of Prague, and Ms. Martha Johnson and Ms. Renee Santi from St. Francis de Sales as the newest members of the Parish Pastoral Council.
PRAISE AND WORSHIP NIGHT WITH "THE WELL"
We are presently planning on a local appearance of the Christian band "The Well." This was a musical group formed at St. Louis the King parish in 2012. Our pastor, Fr. Ben, was an original member and bassist in the group. The band plays contemporary Christian music (Newsboys, Matt Maher, etc...) and is quite accomplished. We are having them come to our parish for a "Praise and Worship" event on Friday, May 13, 2017. Please accept this invitation to hear this extraordinary group with their great music and witness talk. Members of prayer groups are especially encouraged to come to listen...and Praise and Worship!
HEALING MASS FOR THE FEAST OF OUR LADY OF FATIMA--SATURDAY, MAY 13, 2017!
On Saturday, May 13, 2017, a Mass for Healing will be offered at St. Francis de Sales Parish at 11:00 AM. The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick will be available to those who are in need of healing. On this date, which is the 100th anniversary of the miracle at Fatima (where the Blessed Virgin appeared to the three children and effected a miracle that resulted in many healings), we commemorate our Mother, Mary, the Blessed Virgin who still assists us today in our plight. All are welcome to this important commemoration and Holy Mass. Please join us and let us pray for those who are in need of healing!
SERVICE OF APPRECIATION FOR PUBLIC SAFETY OFFICIALS TO BE HELD ON MAY 21, 2017
Our annual "Service of Appreciation" for Public Safety Officials (representing Police, Fire, EMS, Corrections, and other agencies) will be held on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at St. Francis de Sales Church. All are welcome as we honor and commemorate these folks for their work in our community. This event is sponsored by the Manistique Ministerial Association and it is an ecumenical event which begins at 3:00 PM.
NEWS ON THE SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION (CONFESSIONS)
The Sacrament of Reconciliation is still celebrated on Wednesdays at 11:30 AM. However, confessions are heard at any time and an appointment can be scheduled with Fr. Ben by calling the Church office. Also, the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick can be scheduled at any time as well.
We, the people of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, believe in the teachings of the Catholic Church and in the Real Presence of Christ, Our Lord, in the Eucharist. We are a community that prays together, and we give of our time, talent and treasure. We seek to be good examples of Christian living by loving one another as Christ loves us, and by placing a high value on family life. We believe all human life has value from beginning to end. We see our Parish as a family which includes the unborn, youth, singles, single parents, married, married parents, divorced, separated, widowed and seniors.
