Outreach & Prayer

Pastoral Ministry

Our Pastoral Ministry reaches out to all those in the hospital, the Medical Care Facility, Woodland Meadows Assisted Living, and to those who are homebound due to illness, injury, age, etc.  This ministry is essential to make a person who cannot come to Church to remain connected to our community, who prays for their needs. It unites the one separated by circumstances with the rest of their Parish Family, the Body of Christ.  Serving in this ministry means visiting and/or bringing the Eucharist to these people.

If you need to arrange for these services, or if you would like to serve in this way, please contact the Parish Office (906-341-5355) or Joanne Sartori (906-341-6163).

Adoration / Holy Hour / Benediction

Every Wednesday, from Noon to 1:00 p.m., we have a Holy Hour of Adoration.

Prayer Chain

We have many people who belong to this ministry of praying for the needs of others. To request prayers for your needs or the needs of others, simply call the contact person listed below. Your request is soon passed on to many so it will be well covered in prayer.  To join this ministry – to be added as another link in our prayer chain – call the contact person. Because prayer is such a powerful weapon with such positive results, we more than welcome anyone who would like to join this ministry.

In Manistique, contact the prayer line coordinator Sylvia Raredon (906-341-6117) and in Gulliver, contact Pat Hogan (906-283-3212).

Rosary Ministry

The Rosary is a powerful prayer that can be prayed alone or with others. Following Jesus’ words, “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them," we gather together to pray the Rosary at the following times, in the following places:

St.Francis de Sales Church at 8:30a.m. before every 9:00a.m. daily Mass

Woodland Meadows Assisted Living on Tuesdays at 10:00a.m.

Medical Care Facility on Tuesdays at 11:00a.m.

Divine Infant of Prague Church in Gulliver on Saturdays at 3:35p.m. before Mass

Everyone is welcome and encouraged to join us for any or all of these prayer times.

Remnant of God Charismatic Prayer Group

The Remnant of God Prayer Group meet at 7pm every Tuesday in the Mary's Room of the church to give praise, honor, and glory to Jesus Christ through the use of the gifts of the Holy Spirit.  Charismatic prayer and praise includes using the gifts of the Holy Spirit and experiencing God’s presence in a powerful way.

We are committed to living the Gospel message and presenting “Life in the Spirit Seminars” regularly so that others will also receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit, thereby renewing their family, their parish and their whole Church.

The Prayer Group is open to all who are interested.  For more information about our Prayer Group, please contact Mary Desjarden (906-341-3545) or John Hogan (906-283-3212).
